Did you know that clothing can make you sick, break your bones, and even kill you? It’s true! It can even drive you mad! This program takes a look at 18th- and 19th-century fashions and the deadly secrets hiding behind those fabulous looks. Historian Kathy Wilson will also tackle some urban myths, including whether it was possible for Scarlet O’Hara to have an 18-inch waist!
Presenter Kathy Wilson has more than 20 years experience as a professional historian, educator, archaeologist and museum specialist in the Midwest and Southeastern United States. She has a BA in History from Bemidji State University, a Masters from the University of York (England) and is a former PhD candidate at the University of Iowa.
