Meeting Room B Description
Bring the family for an afternoon of music on the Kora Harp with Sean Gaskell.
Sean will give a performance and educational demonstration on the Kora, a 21-string harp native to the Mandinka people of the Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau. The Kora dates back 300 years, although some of the music comes from the middle 13th century. He will feature traditional songs in addition to some of his own personal compositions. Sean has studied with master Kora players from the Gambia over the course of multiple visits.
