Meeting Room B
In honor of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, Laura Keyes will portray renowned suffragist Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
Stanton fought for equal rights for women for 50 years, and inspired feminists for over a century. Keyes will pick up Stanton’s story following the Civil War in 1866, focusing on her involvement with women’s suffrage in that era.
Laura F. Keyes, a librarian in Northern Illinois, has been portraying women from history since 2008. She enjoys researching literary symbolism and has been very active in community theater since 1999.
This event is free and open to the public and has been made possible with help from the Council Bluffs Public Library Foundation.
