Description
Join us for a four-part hands-on oral history workshop, led by Jade Rogers, professor and local historian. Focusing on personal and/or family histories, participants will learn the essentials of conducting and recording an oral history interview.
Participants may have a loved one in mind whose story they would they would like to capture, but an interview subject is not necessary to participate in this workshop. Outside of the workshop, opportunities will be available to apply the techniques learned for conducting and recording oral history interviews. The Library is partnering with Bethany Lutheran Health Services, Prairie Gate Senior Living Community, and Risen Son Christian Village to identify individuals who would like to share and record their stories.
All workshop sessions will be held in Meeting Room B from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays, May 7, 14, 21, and 28. Space is limited. Register here for this free workshop.
Support provided by the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Council Bluffs Public Library Foundation.
