Unit K Nurses in WWI

Sep 20, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Conference Room B Council Bluffs Public Library

The Red Cross Hospital Unit K was formed in the Spring of 1917. Twenty-one nurses from the Council Bluffs area volunteered for duty with the Unit. Upon arriving in France, Unit K would become the nucleus of Mobile Hospital No. 1 and worked along the front lines for the duration of World War I.

The program will consist of an overview of the Mobile Hospital No. 1 and it’s time in France and a brief biographical sketch of the nurses.
