Vermicomposting: Composting with Worms

Feb 12, 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Meeting Room B

Join us for an introduction to the basics of vermicomposting. Vermicomposting is an excellent way to divert landfill waste and compost your biodegradable kitchen scraps. This decomposition process, utilizing a species of worms called red wigglers, is easy to do, produces great compost for your garden and can be done inside year-round (it won’t stink!). You’ll take away a better understanding of how to accomplish this at home and some worms of your own!

This is an in-person program. Space is limited. Contact the Reference Desk at 712-323-7553, ext. 2 to sign up to join us in Meeting Room B.
