What’s It Worth? ~ An Antique Appraisal Event

Author and appraiser Mark Moran, who has written over 25 books on antiques and collectibles and has appeared on the PBS Antiques Roadshow program, will evaluate your items and help you learn more about their history. Mark has been a contributing editor for Antique Trader magazine and has been active as an appraiser of antiques and fine art for more than 20 years, specializing in vintage folk art, Americana and fine art.

This event is open to the public, and spectators are welcome, but pre-registration and payment are required to have your item appraised. Space is limited to 40 participants – appraisals by reservation ONLY! Cost for appraisal is $20 per item. Register and pay at the Reference Desk on the second floor by May 5th.

Mark is available for home visits to look at large collections or large furniture, at a cost of $75 per hour. Please arrange these visits directly with him at moranm1953@gmail.com or 715-281-5060.

Items accepted for appraisal: Fine Art – Furniture – Ceramics – Glassware – Vintage photos – Advertising – Folk Art – Assorted Toys – Metalware

Items NOT accepted: any item that is too large to carry, all weapons, including swords and knives (though folding knives with advertising are accepted); traps (like leg-hold); Nazi memorabilia; coins and paper money; fine jewelry (including precious gems); Beanie Babies.

Opinions of value are informal and may not be used for insurance or charitable donations, which require a certified appraisal.
