Description

Linda Betsinger McCann will speak about her newest book: Prisoners of War in Iowa.

During World War II, there were about 25,000 German, Italian and Japanese prisoners of war in Iowa. Clarinda and Algona were the two main camps in Iowa and there were about 17 branch camps throughout the state where the POWs worked on short-time projects. Linda was able to speak with people who knew or worked with the prisoners, and shares their memories.

Copies of her book will be available for purchase.
