Event Details

Council Bluffs Public Library and Pottawattamie Conservation have teamed up to offer a FREE 4 class series focused on giving you the confidence and background knowledge you need to grow a beautiful native garden that supports wildlife and provides benefits to you and your community. Gardening with Native Plants is a free, four-part class. Registration is required and a form must be completed for each class you plan to attend.

Class 4: Getting the right plant in the right location is the key to a successful native garden. This session will meet at the Council Bluffs Convention and Visitors Bureau, where we’ll tour their native plantings with Nick Bonham from Lucky Toad Restorative Gardens and Mark Eckstrom, Executive Director of the Council Bluffs Convention and Visitors Bureau. Bonham and Eckstrom will share their experiences building the garden from the sod up, including design elements, preparing the site, selecting species for the site conditions, and native garden maintenance.

(In case of inclement weather, this class will be moved to Meeting Room B.)
