Program Description

Event Details

Book a one-on-one appointment to learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine: from setting it up properly, to sewing straight lines! We’ll cover: sewing machine parts and accessories, how to thread the machine, how to install the bobbin, and more! Whether you need a refresher or are brand-new to sewing, bring your questions to get started (or restarted) on your sewing journey!

Upon completion of this class, you will be certified to check out the Janome Jem Gold Sewing Machine from the Makerspace! Must be age 14+.

***If you have your own portable sewing machine that works, feel free to bring it and a bobbin that fits the machine (the user manual may be helpful if available). Once your registration is confirmed, please email sewing@councilbluffslibrary.org if you plan to bring a machine.***
