This is a hilarious and biting memoir from the actor, comedian, and SNL alumni, David Spade! It starts by taking fans back to his childhood and on his rough road to fame. It also covers his years on SNL during the beloved Rock/Sandler/Farley era of the 1990s, which was my favorite! David is sometimes dirty, always funny, and as sharp as a tack! I laughed out loud listening, I hope you do, too!

This story is told in the format of a podcast. Sadie is heart wrenching, riveting, and deeply important. Read it for all of the Sadie's who go unnoticed all around us.

Lily, a young artist, is at a rough point in her life -- painting doldrums, evicted from her apartment, and struggling to survive, only to find that she is married (one of Vegas weekends ten years ago) and life is a mess! Enter Minnow Bay, Wisconsin, in the dead of winter, and some life changing discoveries. I loved the flow of this book, the balance of conversation and setting, as well as the "heat" of romance when two people are in conflict and yet attracted to each other.

John Hodgman comes to a profound understanding in his latest book: if the realization in your forties that you no longer "have potential" but are instead a fully grown, fully mortal adult doesn't shock you to death, a dip into the liquid nitrogen-esque waters of Maine just might. Hop-scotching through meaningful moments from early adulthood through middle age, Hodgman shares with readers the wisdom he earned the hard way, or, at least, the odd way. Sometimes wistful, sometimes acerbic, always smart and hilarious, the true-life tales of this author are worth taking the plunge.

I don't read many non-fiction books, but this one was special for two reasons: I am a total Good Morning America/Robin Roberts fan and loved reading about the staff and what happens behind the camera/off camera AND Robin's fight with cancer, twice. I, too, am a breast cancer survivor, so to learn that some of the chemo treatments that she had, created the second and worse round of MDS cancer, really resonated with me. I learned so much information about bone marrow transplants, as well as was inspiration in her words and in her fight to beat the cancer. Her faith, family and friends guided and encouraged her in her darkest moments to have the strength to keep fighting. I'm glad that I stepped out of my "fiction zone" to read her biography.

The Neighbors is a picture book about a young girl who lives on the 7th floor of an apartment building. As she climbs the stairs each day, she imagines the lives of each apartment's occupants by looking at the decorations outside the doors. Her imagination is full of detail and the illustrations prove it! This was a very fun book.

While getting mom ready for her late-in-life wedding, three daughters go through personal decisions on their own romantic relationships. Divorce, broken engagements and low self esteem all are stumbling blocks to "happy ever after." And then there are the family secrets that are never talked about, until relationships come to a boil. The book includes a few recipes in the back for foods with "Drunken Red-nosed Honeybee" honey.

When you have been hurt one too many times, it is hard to build trust and find love. How do you overcome this problem? You go into a male/female "FRIENDSHIP" with a promise of keeping it a friendship! Does it work - Yes; Does it stay a friendship only - No! The setting is in California, and the blend of tasty bakery pastries, a dog and some outdoor adventures turn this friendship into romance.

Romance is in the Delaware air, for mom and for her two daughters. In a "bucket list" decision by mom, a winery is bought, though none of them knows a thing about growing grapes. But their bumbling at it doesn't stop them from becoming a success. Strawberries, and grapes, and rusty old tractor all help the romances grow.
