FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Council Bluffs Public Library Selected to Join StoryCorps’ National One Small Step Libraries Program
Council Bluffs, IA—Council Bluffs Public Library is proud to announce that Elisa Cruz, Adult Programming Librarian, has been selected as one of only ten library professionals nationwide to participate in StoryCorps’ inaugural One Small Step Libraries Community of Practice. Launched in 2021, StoryCorps’ One Small Step (OSS) brings strangers with different political beliefs together in conversation—not to debate politics, but to get to know each other as people. Libraries are uniquely positioned to bring this new program to life. The OSS Libraries Program is made possible by the Institute of Museum and Library Services National Leadership grant.
As part of the program, Council Bluffs Public Library will host a series of OSS activities in 2025. Below is a general listing of planned programs to support the grant work. Public participation is encouraged and will be appreciated.
